Let’s Do What Can Be Done

Join our tapestry project to pass down the memories of the disaster and antinuclear message to kids in the future.

This workshop what makes a kimono piece of 50cm square with your pieces was founded by Mdm. Eriko Shiomi in Tokyo. When she did volunteers at Ishinomaki city in Tohoku she met the lady who lost her kimono shop by hotting Tsunami. Then Mdm. Eriko was given all dirty kimono clothes from the lady. Now those dirty kimono clothes reborn with many great tapestry, over 2000 pieces from 24 countries.

We hope that the tapestry composed of 5x5NEXT (project name) pieces made by each of you will become the drop curtain of the culture hall in Ishinomaki in the future.

And those tsunami-hit kimonos were remake to stage costumes too.
